Becki Newton

Becki was born and raised at Guilford (Connecticut) but she is originally from New Haven. Her parents are English and Czech of Czech descent. She started performing at local theaters. with a major in European History. Newton is in his time as a Penn pupil, was an active member of Alpha Chi Omega. Newton following her graduation from Penn University in 2006 relocated in New York City where she was offered television roles by corporations like Olive Garden. Newton played the role of Amanda Tanen on the comedy-drama Ugly Betty series from 2006 to 2010. Co-starring with Michael Urie, Newton co-hosted the"Official Ugly Betty" Podcast. In addition, she was a part of ABC.com ?Ts Mode After Hours Webisode Show. Ugly Betty was canceled in 2010 after four successful seasons which allowed the show to get an appropriate series conclusion. Newton had her New York City Center encores debut in 2009. production of the Gershwin musical Girl Crazy, which was directed by Jerry Zaks. She portrayed Molly Gray and performed opposite her husband, real life Chris Diamantopoulos. Newton was a part of the TV series Love Bites. NBC announced the pick up of the show in May 2010.However there was a rift in the series, which began with Newton declaring her pregnancy co-star Jordana Spiro was legally bound to continue her current show My Boys (which ended up being later canceled) and Chupack's intention to quit the show Love Bites was pushed back until midseason.
